Warren, IL – Warren Community Unit School District #205 is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newly completed elementary and preschool playgrounds. After months of construction, the playgrounds are now ready for the enjoyment of children and families alike.
While a small amount of grass seed still needs to be planted, the majority of the construction is finished. The district invites the community to come out and explore the new play areas. Children are encouraged to bring their imaginations and playmates, but please leave pets at home.
During the school year, the playgrounds will be open to the public from dusk to dawn on weekdays and throughout the weekend. In the summer months, they will be accessible to the public at all times. Trash cans have been provided for convenience, and the playgrounds are equipped with handicapped accessible features and swings to ensure everyone can participate in the fun.
This project was made possible through the generous support of an anonymous grant, the Game Time Grant, a matching School Improvement Grant from the Illinois State Board of Education, The Bob, the Warren PTO, the Village of Warren, Apple River State Bank, Community Bank, and the school district itself.
The district is excited to provide this new amenity to the community and looks forward to seeing the playgrounds filled with laughter and joy.
